Dallas handyman SEO: a practical guide.

The pages to build, in order, for a metro made of suburbs that search separately.

· 7 min read

Dallas Fort Worth is not one search market. Somebody in Frisco and somebody in Oak Cliff type the same words and expect a different business back, and Google obliges. Any plan that treats the metro as one city fails in most of it.

Start with the profile, because it produces calls while everything else is being built. Primary category, every service listed, service areas set to where the truck goes, photos after every job, and review requests going out the same day.

Then build service pages. One page for each job you want more of, written the way customers describe it. Drywall repair, door repair, TV mounting, fence repair, deck staining. Each page gets a price range, photos of your own work, and a straight answer about how quickly you can come out.

Then build suburb pages, but only for the suburbs you serve well. Four honest pages for Plano, Frisco, Richardson and Allen beat thirty thin pages naming every zip code in the metroplex, which Google identifies as a page farm and customers see through anyway. Each page should mention real streets or areas, real drive times, and reviews from customers who live there. Then keep going: two new reviews a month and one updated page a month is enough to keep climbing while your competitors do nothing.

The short version

  • Treat each suburb as its own market, because search does.
  • Profile first, service pages second, suburb pages third.
  • A few real area pages beat dozens of thin ones.
