How to make your handyman business show up in ChatGPT.
Assistants quote sources they can read and verify. Most contractor sites are neither.

When somebody asks an assistant for a handyman in Lakewood, it assembles an answer from pages it can read, business listings it can match, and reviews it can find. It will not recommend a business it cannot describe with confidence.
So the first job is consistency. Your business name, address or service area, and phone number should be identical on your site, your Google Business Profile, your Facebook page and every directory that lists you. Assistants and search engines both treat conflicting details as a reason to doubt the whole record.
The second job is answerable pages. Put a direct answer in the first two sentences of every service page, in plain language: what you do, where you do it, roughly what it costs, and how fast you can get there. Add structured data so the machine reading it does not have to interpret your layout. Pages that bury the answer under a hero image and three paragraphs of introduction get skipped.
The third is being mentioned somewhere other than your own site. Chamber listings, local directories, supplier pages and local press all count as corroboration. A business that only exists on its own website is a claim. A business that appears consistently in a dozen places is a fact, and assistants repeat facts.
