Why multi-location eye care groups lose local search.
Nine locations, one template, and no local specificity anywhere.
· 6 min read
Groups usually build one location page and duplicate it, changing the address at the top. Each of those pages then competes against a single location practice down the street that has genuine local detail, and loses.
Fix the pages first. Local providers with their own bios, photos of that specific office, parking and access notes, the neighborhoods that office serves, and reviews from patients of that location. It is more work than a template and it is the entire difference.
Then manage profiles individually. One per location, consistent in categories and naming, monitored for unauthorized edits and hour changes, with review generation tracked per site because map ranking is calculated per location.
Finally, report by location. A group averaging its numbers cannot see that two offices are carrying the brand and one has been invisible for a year. Calls, bookings and cost per booked exam per site is what turns marketing budget into a capacity decision instead of a guess.
The short version
- Location pages need local detail, not a swapped address.
- One profile per site, reviewed and grown individually.
- Report per location or the weak sites stay hidden in the average.
